Ashdod Art Museum operates within Monart Arts Centre, the multi-disciplinary culture center situated in the heart of the city.
The unique museum building overlooks the sea and the marina. Its' special trademark is the pyramidal glass roof. The showrooms designed as various in sized galleries within the spiral shaped structure. This allows the museum's curators to showcase art in unique frame of work.
The museum exhibits modern and contemporary art. The Ashdod Art Museum is place of constant activity which tries to incorporate modernism and contemporary art, to create contextual interactions and ongoing inter-generational dialogue. The various exhibitions offer unusual displays of both contemporary artists and local and international classics, while combining a variety of different Media such as painting, sculpture, photography and video-art.
