Description
In the photograph – Naftali Gribov, conductor of the Mandatory Police Band. Following the death of Aubrey Silver in 1944, during a period which was complicated in terms of the relationship with the British on the background of the activities of the resistance movements against the British rule, Gribov carefully navigated the way of the band between commitment to the mandatory police and commitment to the Hebrew Yishuv.
