About the Exhibition
"I confess - I would have liked to keep 'Israelik' precisely as he is now, a little naïve boy, innocent and cheeky, so he will keep wearing short pants, will not have a moustache or deep voice, will never get married or leave home – so we can always sit him on our laps and hear his stories" –Dosh (Kariel Gardosh).
The exhibition tells the story of Srulik, the famous character from Dosh's caricatures, which became a national symbol and a cultural icon, and explores different stages in the process of the character's creation and formation. Moreover, the exhibition displays sketches, drawings, caricatures and personal letters by Dosh. The exhibition documents contemplations, thoughts and emotions that were part of Dosh's creative process throughout his career of 50 years.
